Animal Testing

I saw this group listed under causes on a friend’s Facebook page a while back. I laughed at it a lot when I saw it the first time then again later with the friends I ridiculed it with. I recently found it again and was overjoyed to find that it is still laughably funny.

It’s an ethical treatment page so they’ve included the obligatory sad, sickly, puppy picture, which is actually kind of depressing. Don’t worry though because just to the left of that, under the “donations” category there’s a little yellow chicken icon from PETA that says “I am not a nugget” which is hilarious. Above that they’ve added the title and a brief but clearly defined mission statement, “Animal Abuse & Animal Testings: Try and stop it and figure out why people do it.” Below that they’ve outlined their main points,”1. Animals have feelings too” and “2. If scientists are so smart…” with the scientists thing referring to the description paragraph which reads as follows:

“Help me in trying to stop animal abuse and animal testing. It really makes me angry when people test things on animals. If they have so much money from being a scientist, I think that they could come up with something that doesn’t involve animals or humans in testings.”

The amazing thing really isn’t that there’s something stupid on Facebook but that it’s made $671 in donations! We all have it wrong. We should quit our jobs and become a scientist.
